Lawton High School Receives Bronze Medal Award

Congratulations to the teachers, students, staff and administration of Lawton High School for being recognized by US News and World Report as a Bronze Medal High School for 2014. This places LHS among just 24.2% of all high schools nationwide to be recognized by US News. This recognition is based on a calculation using aggregate student scores on State assessments in Reading and Math and is adjusted based on the performance of the least-advantaged students. College Readiness scores as connected to AP success also figure into the equation. These students obviously got started on the right path at the Elementary and Middle School so everyone should take some pride in this accomplishment. Congratulations and keep up the great work!

In the current environment where schools are challenged to do more with scarce resources, planning for the future is more important than ever. In June of 2013, the Lawton Community Schools Superintendent and Board of Education made a commitment to create a three to five year Strategic Plan.
